Effect of diets containing tuna head hydrolysates on the survival and growth of shrimp Penaeus vannamei ArchiMer
Nguyen, Thi-my-huong; Perez-galvez, Raul; Berge, Jean-pascal.
A feeding trial was conducted to evaluate the effect of the supplementation of hydrolysates from tuna head on the survival and growth of Penaeus vannamei. To this end, a feeding trial was performed on eleven groups of shrimps of average weight 4.34 g. Every group was distributed into three tanks (30 shrimps per tank of 150 L) and was fed with one of the following eleven diets, all of them containing 40% crude protein: one diet containing tuna head meal as the principal protein source, which was used as control diet; nine diets formulated by replacing 50% tuna head meal by fish protein hydrolysates (FPH), and finally one commercial diet chosen as a reference. FPH were obtained by hydrolysis of tuna head during 2, 3 or 6 h and ulterior centrifugation in order...

External morphology of the adult of Dynamine postverta (Cramer) (Lepidoptera, Nymphalidae, Biblidinae) and patterns of morphological similarity among species from eight tribes of Nymphalidae Rev. Bras. entomol.
Leite,Luis Anderson Ribeiro; Casagrande,Mirna Martins; Mielke,Olaf Hermann Hendrik.
External morphology of the adult of Dynamine postverta (Cramer) (Lepidoptera, Nymphalidae, Biblidinae) and patterns of morphological similarity among species from eight tribes of Nymphalidae. The external structure of the integument of Dynamine postverta postverta (Cramer, 1779) is based on detailed morphological drawings and scanning electron microscopy. The data are compared with other species belonging to eight tribes of Nymphalidae, to assist future studies on the taxonomy and systematics of Neotropical Biblidinae.

Morfologia comparada da cabeça das espécies sulbrasileiras de Morphinae (Lepidoptera, Nymphalidae) Zoologia
Bilotta,Ivana Gavassi.
This research presents a detailed study of the morphology of the head of adult in both sexes of the south Brazilian species of the Morphinae subfamily (Lepidoptera, Nymphalidae), as mentioned below: Morpho helenor violaceus Fruhstorfer, 1912; Iphimedeia hercules (Dalman, 1823); Iphixibia anaxibia (Esper, 1801); Cytheritis portis thamyris (Felder & Felder, 1867); Cytheritis aega (Huebner, 1822); Pessonia catenaria (Perry, 1811); Grasseia menelaus nestira (Huebner, 1821).

Morfologia externa de Thyridia psidii cetoides (Rosenberg & Talbot). I. Cabeça e apêndices (Lepidoptera, Nymphalidae, Ithomiinae) Zoologia
Bizarro,Jorge Manuel Saraiva; Casagrande,Mirna Martins; Mielke,Olaf Hermanm Hendrik.
A detailed study of the morphology of the head of Thyridia psidii cetoides (Rosenberg & Talbot, 1914) (Nymphalidae, Ithomiinae) adults from both sexes is presented. The material was obtained at the city's plant nursery "Horto Florestal de Curitiba", Paraná, Brazil; mainly by rearing eggs and larvae collected there on Cyphomandra betacea (Canavilles) Sendtner, 1845 (Solanaceae). When possible, all the results obtained were compared with those already available in the literature concerning external morphology studies pertinent to other Nymphalidae subfamilies (Brassolinae, Morphinae and Danainae).

Negative genetic correlations between production traits and head or bony tissues in large all-female rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) ArchiMer
Haffray, Pierrick; Bugeon, Jerome; Pincent, Cedric; Chapuis, Herve; Mazeiraud, Emmanuel; Rossignol, Marie-noelle; Chatain, Beatrice; Vandeputte, Marc; Dupont-nivet, Mathilde.
Genetic parameters of production traits (growth, carcass yield, fillet yield) and bony tissues (head and vertebral axis) were estimated for large all-female rainbow trout Oncorhynchus mykiss reared in freshwater. Genetic parameters were estimated using REML at 16 months of age (1636 g) on 1962 DNA-assigned progenies from a partial factorial mating design with 60 dams and 100 sex-reversed sires. Most traits presented medium to high heritability (0.37 to 0.54). A high genetic correlation (r(A)=0.97) was found between fillet yield and headless gutted carcass yield (or HGCarc%). Due to its higher heritability and high genetic correlation with fillet yield, selection on HGCarc% should result in a 50% increase in selection efficiency on fillet yield by reducing...
